About us

At Dromoland Castle, we have been a luxury hotel since 1962, but our heritage and history dates back to the 1500s. Surrounded by 500 private acres of natural beauty, we’ve been a part of Ireland’s lore and landscape for centuries and know that we owe much of Dromoland Castle’s success to three things: our community, nature, and the incredible team that works here.

We recognise that we all learn differently, have different motivations for working and that we never stop learning. From the moment you join us to the moment you leave, you will be in a cycle of continuous learning aimed at helping you to be the very best you can in your chosen role. Your probationary period is a very structured and practical learning period with a clear focus on helping you reach the standards of excellence required by Dromoland Castle, our guests and Preferred Hotels & Resorts. As you progress, we help you map your career path, so you can achieve your personal career/work aspirations. In support of this, we have many talent development programmes, ranging from classroom or college learning, e-learning, hands-on learning and self-learning opportunities, with the purpose of enabling you to fulfil your personal aspirations and realise your potential.

Dromoland Castle is more than just a work place; it is a family home. Just as a family takes care of all aspects of your wellbeing, at Dromoland we endeavour to do the same.

Application tips

From front-of-house to behind-the-scenes, our international family comes from the four corners of the globe. It is this wealth of unique personalities, cultures and skills that makes us one of the finest hotels in the world. The gold standard in Irish hospitality, every one of the Dromoland Castle team has been chosen for their friendliness, their professionalism and their desire to be the best. We create as special an environment for our team as we do for our guests and invite you to make Dromoland your home away from home whilst working with us. Talent and enthusiasm, of course, needs to be nourished and in joining the Dromoland family, we empower you to take the next steps in your career. Coached by expert leadership and supported by a range of personal development programmes and learning opportunities, we help you enhance your knowledge and skills, for the benefit of you, Dromoland, and our guests.

Our great workplace

Accommodation: This may be offered to you as part of your contractual agreement. Living on the Estate has many advantages; it is your home away from home and we want you to be comfortable and relaxed when not at work. Laundry and kitchenette facilities are provided, as are all meals regardless of whether you are on or off duty.

Leisure & Social Wellbeing: Physical fitness and interests outside of work provide essential work/life balance and there are many activities available for you to enjoy – our leisure centre, gym, cycling, yoga/Pilates, water sports, fishing, trips to local tourist attractions, historical places, restaurants and bars, plus social activities ranging from barbecues to parties. There is plenty to do in your time off!

Caring for Others: We are involved in many community and charity events, from local schools to fundraising and supporting charities. We invite you to get involved in these voluntary activities and help people less fortunate than ourselves.
