What defines us

BlackBerry’s global culture is a key piece of our success. It brings together our people, our business, and our organization into one vision. This is emphasized throughout our employee communications and during our global onboarding training. For example, our regional BlackBerry newsletters are sent out to employees quarterly and highlight BlackBerry events, donation campaigns, and spotlights employees around the world. This initiative has helped employees build a stronger understanding of their regional BlackBerry community.

Employees are also encouraged to join BlackBerry sports teams, groups, and social committees. Teams use our corporate intranet site and BBM communication channel to facilitate virtual gatherings. These social events encourage cross-team participation and allow employees to meet new people while developing their network.

What inspires us

BlackBerry proudly hosts many celebrations and social events throughout the year, such as International Women’s Day, Summer and Halloween events for employees and their families, and a Holiday giving Program to support those in need. We have also hosted many virtual events throughout the past year, including virtual fitness classes, Spring and Fall Wellness Fairs, Take Our Kids to Work Day, holiday celebrations, team-building events, and team birthdays and work anniversary celebrations. Additionally, our Wellness Committee plans events and initiatives monthly to support the physical, mental, and financial wellness of our employees. BlackBerry has a best-in-class approach to health and wellness. One thing that makes us stand out is our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provided by Workplace Options. Our EAP program allows employees and their dependents to access free counselling and support via phone, website, or mobile app 24-hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
