Each year, the Great Place to Work® Institute works with the Irish Independent to conduct the Best Workplaces in Ireland study. This is widely recognised as Ireland’s most comprehensive study of workplace culture. It offers superb national and international benchmarking, learning, and networking opportunities to all who take part.
The ‘Best Workplaces in Ireland’ process is all about improving your organization and creating and maintaining a trusted environment in your workplace! The objective is to help companies improve their workplaces and increase the level of trust between employers and employees.
It also offers companies the opportunity to make the necessary improvements and then if they wish they can aim to make it onto the ‘50 Best Workplaces in Ireland’ list. This list recognises organisations in which employees are provided with a great work environment, and inspire other organisations to do the same!
This process helps us distinguish who the most satisfied workforces in the country are and therefore who are the premium employers. In essence, these will be the ‘Best Workplaces in Ireland’.
The companies who make it onto the ‘Best Workplaces in Ireland’ list are selected from more than 4,000 eligible organisations (ie. any organisation with more than 50 employees in Ireland).
We conduct a confidential survey of your employees to measure the levels of Credibility, Respect, Fairness, Pride and Camaraderie within the company. We look at various aspects of your organization including Communication, Training & Development, Work-Life Balance, and Diversity, for example. We will then provide you with reports, each packed with valuable comparative data and insights to help you to create a better workplace. And...
...you also get to attend – at no further cost – our annual Great Place to Work® Institute Conference, which addresses cutting edge workplace issues.
Each organisation that appears on our list has been selected mainly on the basis of a wide-ranging survey of their employees, conducted confidentially by the Great Place to Work® Institute. We also ask the employer to give us detailed additional information about the workplace culture, their HR policies and procedures, and the conditions of employment including pay, benefits, and perks. We also take all of these into account in our assessments.
The Great Place to Work® Institute’s 7th Annual list of the ‘50 Best Workplaces in Ireland’ was published on Thurs, 26th February 2009, in the special ‘Best Workplaces in Ireland’ supplement to the Irish Independent.
Each year, the Great Place to Work® Institute produces Best Workplaces lists, representing workplaces in 40 countries around the world. These annual surveys are widely considered to be the most important and comprehensive studies of workplace culture undertaken throughout the world.
Remember! ...
- This process is not just for the 'Best Workplaces'. In fact, many organisations take part to learn and improve over a period of time... and you can do the same!
- Those companies who take part in the process but who don’t make it onto the list that particular year will never be revealed. That information will be kept in the strictest of confidence by Great Place to Work® Institute.
- Many companies take part in the Great Place to Work® Institute survey outside of the Best Workplaces process, and look upon it as a two or three year strategic plan. They aim to make it on to the ‘Best Workplaces in Ireland’ list by the third year, after having made the improvements required in their organization based on their research findings, while in the meantime learning how to do so and discovering new business benefits as a result.
- So, if your organisation is already a 'great workplace', we will be delighted to hear from you, and if your organisation is not a 'great workplace', but you sincerely want to make it better, we will be absolutely delighted to help you in your efforts.
Whatever your motivation is, your organisation will benefit greatly from becoming involved. We invite you to take advantage of this unique opportunity for you to learn, improve and be recognised.
We look forward to hearing from you!
